Folder Description
This folder contains correspondence, memoranda, news clippings, and other material pertaining to the John F. Kennedy Library. Topics include the Federal Employees Campaign for the John F. Kennedy Library fundraising drive; the acquisition and transfer of Kennedy administration archival materials to the National Archives and Records Service, a division of the GSA; Boutin's oral history interviews; and plans for the design and construction of the building, with research on the other existing presidential libraries (Hoover, Roosevelt, Truman, Eisenhower). Items include correspondence with Robert F. Kennedy, Edward M. Kennedy, and Arthur Schlesinger; inventories of books formerly located in the White House Fish Room and the President's office, and objects in the custody of Evelyn Lincoln (all dated June 1964); a list of materials held by the GSA for deposit in the Kennedy Library (dated 19 May 1964); and a memorandum from E. Barrett Prettyman, Jr., about the Kennedy Library touring exhibit.
