This folder contains copies and drafts of Senator John F. Kennedy’s speech at the AFL-CIO (American Federation of Labor and Congress of Industrial Organizations) Industrial Union Department convention in Washington, D.C. In his speech the Senator discusses the administration of President Dwight D. Eisenhower and its handling of labor issues, the ongoing investigations of the United States Senate Select Committee on Improper Activities in Labor-Management Relations, and proposed legislation to ensure fair labor practices and address social issues.
