Chief of Protocol Angier Biddle Duke forwarded an 8 1/2 x 12-inch photograph album containing this photograph with a memorandum dated May 2, 1961, to Personal Secretary Evelyn Lincoln. The Republic of Guatemala created the photograph album to show the "popular respect" paid to Ambassador Mallory.

Guatemalan President Miguel Ydigoras Fuentes dedicating a plaque and park in Guatemala City to former United States Ambassador to Guatemala Lester D. Mallory. Standing left to right around the plaque are: an unidentified man, Ambassador Mallory, an unidentified boy, President Ydigoras Fuentes, and the President's wife Maria Teresa L. de Ydigoras. A message in Spanish is inscribed on the plaque. A caption typed below the photograph contains a translation of the plaque's inscription that reads: "To Lester D. Mallory, the 'gringo' Ambassador who more deeply entered into the heart of Guatemala's people. This plaque and this park are dedicated by the 1440 inhabitants of the 'Centroamerica' colony.
