View of a bronze discus-thrower sculpture (left) awarded to President John F. Kennedy by the American Association for Health, Physical Education, and Recreation. The message on the plate reads: "To John Fitzgerald Kennedy, President of the United States, in appreciation of his distinguished leadership in improving the health and fitness of American Youth that they be fit to learn, fit to understand, to grow in grace and stature to fully live." On the right is a bronze figurine of Herakles purchased by President Kennedy during his 1963 trip to Italy.
