Kennedy's secretary, Evelyn Lincoln, concerning legislative activities and efforts to enact the Kennedy Administration's legislative program. Items include press releases concerning legislation, an overview of legislative items recommended by the President, reports prepared by Legislative Research, proposed amendments to the Trade Expansion Act of 1962, and Secretary of the Treasury C. Douglas Dillon's testimony before the United States Congress Joint Economic Committee. Memoranda from Special Counsel and speechwriter Theodore Sorensen and Special Assistant to the President for Congressional Relations and Personnel Lawrence "Larry" O'Brien concerning individual congressmen and pieces of legislation are found throughout. Topics include trade, tax reform, foreign aid, agriculture, the federal highway program, the Youth Opportunities Act, and the United Nations loan legislation. The folder was originally titled "8/13/62-8/20/62 Treasury."
