A radiological technician at the United States Air Force (USAF) School of Aerospace Medicine at Brooks Air Force Base (AFB), Texas, demonstrating the master slave remote handling device used to handle radioactive substances used in the Bionucleonics Laboratory. The photograph was released by the Office of Information at the Aerospace Medical Division. A caption on the verso of the photo reads: "Office of Information. SAFETY -- A radiological technician at the USAF School of Aerospace Medicine, Brooks AFB, Texas demonstrates the master slave remote handling device used to safely handle radioactive substances used in the Bionucleonics Laboratory. The operator is protected by 18 inches of concrete and the observation window is actually a tank which will contain a liquid that permits viewing but screens out harmful radiation.
