This folder contains a memorandum titled The Catholic Vote in 1952 and 1956, written in Spring 1956, which contains "an analysis of available statistics and polls indicating the strength of the Catholic vote in key states and cities, its division among the Republican and Democratic parties, and the significance to the Democratic party of reversing in 1956 the 1952 Republican trend among Catholic voters." There is also an analysis of Al Smith's performance in the 1928 election, and excerpts from Smith's statements on religion.
