This file contains a copy and draft of Senator John F. Kennedy’s speech at the United Nations Association of Maryland dinner in Baltimore, Maryland. In his speech the Senator discusses the role of the United Nations in diplomacy and foreign policy efforts to meet global challenges, and the need for United States cooperation with the U.N. to secure regions under communist influence, specifically the Middle East and India. Of note is a draft with notations by Senator Kennedy.

In his speech he discusses relations between the two countries including competition for control of the East, and a proposal by Senator Kennedy for the creation of a multi-national development fund for India in the struggle against communism.
