Roll-out ceremonies of the X-19 VTOL (Vertical Take Off and Landing) aircraft. Six men representing the three branches of the military and the Curtiss-Wright Corporation stand in front of the X-19. Identified as standing left to right are: Major General Robert G. Ruegg of the Aeronautical Systems Division, Wright-Patterson Air Force Base; Honorable Alexander H. Flax, Assistant Secretary of the Air Force; Brigadier General Godfrey McHugh, Air Force Aide to the President; Chairman and President of the Curtiss-Wright Corporation T. Roland Berner; Rear Admiral C.T. Booth of the Office of the Chief of Naval Operations, Department of the Navy; and Brigadier General David B. Parker of the United States Army. A group of unidentified men stand in the background. The aircraft was constructed by the Curtiss-Wright Corporation of Wood-Ridge, New Jersey, under a tri-service agreement between the Army, Navy, and Air Force. Mr. Berner sent this photograph and one other to President John F. Kennedy with a letter dated August 13, 1963, expressing the Corporation's desire to develop the plane into a Presidential aircraft.

Floral tribute sent by President John F. Kennedy for the funeral of Major Rudolf Anderson, Jr. in Greenville, South Carolina. Major Anderson was killed in a U-2 reconnaissance flight during the Cuban Missile Crisis on October 27, 1962. The transparency was sent to President Kennedy with a letter dated November 23, 1962 from The Mackey Mortuary. An inscription on the transparency mount reads: "H-10. The President of the United States of America. Please Hold To Light. Courtesy, The Mackey Mortuary"

Com't USARIS, Mrs. Aldonado, and Lt. Col. Arthur J. Nealon, Deputy Post Commander. Photog-Saul Fitzgerald-Civ Fort Slocum, NY." This is a U.S. Army photograph. A stamp on the verso of the photograph reads: "Official Photograph, Publication of the photograph is not authorized unless approved for release by a Public Information Office at any Army activity or installation and so noted hereon. Private First Class Dwight H. Findley standing at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in Arlington National Cemetery on Veterans Day. A caption attached to the verso of this publicity photo reads: "ETERNAL VIGIL -- Private First Class Dwight H. Findley, 24, of Medford, Ore., stands watch at the Tomb of the Unknown Solider at Arlington National Cemetery. President John F. Kennedy will lay a wreath here on Veteran's Day, Saturday, Nov. 11, as a tribute to all veterans of the Armed Forces who gave their lives serving their nation. (U.S. ARMY PHOTO)." President John F. Kennedy laid a wreath at the Tomb on Veterans Day, November 11, 1961.
