In his remarks the President discusses the importance of participating in political activities, and congratulates the American Heritage Foundation for its non-partisan emphasis on political engagement.

Kennedy's secretary, Evelyn Lincoln, concerning President Kennedy's radio and television statement for the American Heritage Foundation "Get Out the Vote" program. In his speech the President urges citizens to vote on election day, noting that the best way to serve the country during the escalating conflict with the Soviet Union is to participate in democratic institutions. Materials in this folder include drafts by Special Counsel and speechwriter Theodore Sorensen with handwritten notations by the President and a press copy of the speech.
