President Kennedy is sitting in the stands, looking up at a foul ball. Sitting left to right are Secretary of the Interior Stewart Udall, Vice President Lyndon Baines Johnson, Secretary of the Treasury C. Douglas Dillon, President Kennedy, and Senator George A. Smathers of Florida. The typed caption attached to the verso of the photograph reads: "Vice President Johnson casts an apprehensive eye at President Kennedy who is keeping his eye on the foul ball. The President is centered between secretary Dillon (left) and Senator Smathers, D. Florida (on the right)."

Senators John F. Kennedy and Lyndon B. Johnson with the Louisiana Congressional Delegation in the Senate Chambers, Washington, D.C., during the 1960 Presidential Campaign. The photograph was sent to President Kennedy with a letter dated January 13, 1961, from Frank B. Ellis, and was taken on the day Mr. Ellis agreed to direct Senator Kennedy's campaign in Louisiana. Standing left to right are Congressman Hale Boggs, Senator Allen J. Ellender, Senator George A. Smathers, Senator John F. Kennedy, Frank B. Ellis, Senator Lyndon B. Johnson, Senator Russell B. Long, and Congressman Edwin E. Willis.
