In addition to the draft messages, topics include the National Christmas tree and White House Christmas celebrations. Of note are a memorandum regarding a request that a Christmas message be sent from President Kennedy to all those who assisted in the college enrollment of James Meredith, the first African American student to attend the University of Mississippi, and a draft of a holiday message to non-Christian recipients.
