The Friends of the Ernest Hemingway Collection was founded by the writer's son Patrick and Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis to support the Collection.

The Special Events Coordinator represents the Library and its interests to corporations, civic organizations, local and state government agencies, and the public. The incumbent coordinates services for special events at the Library: marketing the museum to potential clients, assisting in planning and preparing for conferences, meetings, and special events including coordinating services for facility rentals.
