Also included are press releases from the Democratic National Committee containing the Senator's speech.

This folder contains material pertaining to Walter W. Heller's participation in the White House Regional Conferences on Full Employment and Economic Growth, a series of nationwide events held in November 1961. It includes a general statement and accompanying data for use by the Council of Economic Advisers representative at each conference; two versions of Heller's conference speech, which were given at Madison, Wisconsin, and New York City; and a published copy of the Report to the President on the White House Regional Conferences. Heller's addresses were titled "The American Economy: Progress, Prospects, and Policies" and "Problems and Prospects of the American Economy."

This folder contains a transcript of a press conference given by President-elect John F. Kennedy and Congressman Stewart L. Udall at the Hotel Carlyle in New York City. President-elect Kennedy begins the press conference by announcing the appointment of Congressman Udall as Secretary of the Interior and is followed with a statement by Secretary-designate Udall. The President-elect and Secretary-designate go on to answer questions from the press on a variety of topics including the economy, Native American affairs, recreational resources, and other Cabinet appointments.
