This folder contains material compiled by Walter W. Heller concerning the economy in Canada. Items include an unattributed paper titled "Trading with the Enemy," regarding the sale of Canadian wheat to the Soviet Union; an internal Council of Economic Advisers memorandum on "The Underlying Problem of U.S.-Canadian Economic Relations"; a report submitted to the Royal Commission on Banking and Finance by W. Earle McLaughlin of the Royal Bank of Canada (July 1962); a booklet on the 1962 outlook for private and public investment in Canada; and two papers about the Canadian dollar by William Stix Wasserman. Note that although most material in this file is from 1962 to 1964, some items date back to 1960.

This scrapbook, compiled by Kathleen Kennedy, documents her life during the years 1935 to 1937, when she spent time abroad attending the Holy Child School in Neuilly-sur-Seine, France, and traveling with friends through Europe. Ephemera pasted into the scrapbook include dance and ball cards and tickets for events at Trinity College and Jesus College of the University of Cambridge in England; programs for rowing, lawn tennis, and ice hockey competitions at the University of Cambridge and a skiing event in Gstaad, Switzerland; periodical and newspaper clippings; embroidered cloth patches from the Royal Military College of Canada; and a Catholic devotional scapular of Our Lady of Mount Carmel. Telegrams are from Kathleen's father, Joseph P. Kennedy, Sr.; mother, Rose Fitzgerald Kennedy; brothers, Joseph P. Kennedy, Jr., and John F. Kennedy; aunt, Mary Loretta Kennedy Connelly; and friends, Derek Richardson, Frederick Sinclair “Freddy” Carson, Elizabeth “Betty” Rice, and Mary Veronica “Von” Rice. The scrapbook also contains photographic postcards, photographs of Kathleen with Derek Richardson and Freddy Carson, itineraries, maps, visitor pamphlets, train schedules, and menus from her travels to Venice, Florence, and Rome, Italy; Paris and Reims, France; and Moscow, Russia. This scrapbook contains 72 pieces of printed and three-dimensional ephemera and 19 photographic postcards.

The material is filed roughly in reverse chronological order according to the date of the carbon copy reply. Items include a speech by John J. Deutsch on the Economic Council of Canada; an issue of an Economic Letter written by Dr. [Lawrence C.] Lockley (vol. XII, no. 3, December 1963); and an article by Lockley titled "Another Look at the School of Business Graduate," reprinted from Collegiate News and Views. Kennedy before the United States Senate regarding construction of the Saint Lawrence Seaway that would connect the Atlantic Ocean to the Great Lakes. In his speech the Senator announces his support of a bill to allow for participation by the U.S. in the project due to economic benefits in the construction, operation, and administration of the Seaway. The Senator also addresses concerns regarding the economic impact of the Saint Lawrence Seaway on the Port of Boston.
