This file contains copies of Senator John F. Kennedy's remarks titled, "India and China." In this speech, the Senator discusses competition for control of leadership of the East between the two countries and a proposal for the creation of a multi-nation long-term development fund for India in the struggle against communism and Red China. A note on one copy indicates that the speech was given during a trip to Wisconsin in April 1959.

Topics include the economy, legislative record of the 87th Congress, aid to India, and recent action by Chinese Communist military forces in the Taiwan Strait area. Of note are materials relating to the recent United States Supreme court decision banning prayer in public schools.
