Kennedy [JFK] and how Komer briefed him; the relations among JFK, Dean Rusk, John Kenneth Galbraith, Adlai E. Stevenson, and McGeorge Bundy; JFK’s interest in India and Pakistan and his attempt at a mediation between the two on Kashmir; and JFK and Algeria and Morocco, among other issues.

Kennedy's speech on Algeria, including labor leader Walter Reuther and social reformer Norman Thomas. Some carbon copy replies are included. There is also correspondence with organizations such as the Organization of Arab Students in the United States. The file includes three unrelated items: a booklet titled "Hope for the Victims of Leukemia - Child Killer" by James McCawley; a proposal to build a community vocational high school in East Nigeria by Benjamin Uzoukwu Nzeribe; and a memorandum on Kashmir by J. J. Singh of the India League of America.

Sound recording of a meeting held on May 20, 1963, between President John F. Kennedy, Indian Minister for Economic and Defense Coordination T.T. Krishnamachari, Under Secretary of State for Near Eastern and South Asian Affairs Philips Talbot, member of the National Security Council Robert W. Komer, Indian Foreign Secretary M.J. Desai, and Indian Ambassador to the United States B.K. Nehru. President Kennedy and Defense Minister Krishnamachari discuss in detail the steps that might be taken to aid India, including a defense commitment by the United States. The India-Pakistan situation is discussed in great detail, providing the Indian point of view in depth regarding relations and the Kashmir dispute. Air defense of India and U.S. aid are also discussed. Two segments of the recording totaling 1 minutes and 38 seconds have been removed in accordance with Section 3.4 (b) (1), (3) of Executive Order 12958.
