This folder contains a transcript of a press conference given by President-elect John F. Kennedy and Congressman Stewart L. Udall at the Hotel Carlyle in New York City. President-elect Kennedy begins the press conference by announcing the appointment of Congressman Udall as Secretary of the Interior and is followed with a statement by Secretary-designate Udall. The President-elect and Secretary-designate go on to answer questions from the press on a variety of topics including the economy, Native American affairs, recreational resources, and other Cabinet appointments.

This folder contains a transcript of a press conference given by Senator John F. Kennedy at the Overseas Press Club in New York City. In his remarks the Senator discusses the function of the foreign language press, including assisting immigrants with their transition into the United States and exposing problems of new immigrants and their home countries to U.S. citizens.
