Porcelain dinner plate with a purple border lined with gold dots and an outer border gold cable design. A version of the United States coat of arms is painted in the center of the plate. The plate is part of the “Solfernio” set and was purchased from E.V. Haughwout & Co. in 1861 as part of the state dinner service for President Abraham Lincoln. The china service was reordered under numerous presidential administrations.
