The largest portions of this collection cover Kennedy's Senate Years (1953-1960), and the 1960 Presidential Campaign.

Photographs capture Rose and her family at their residences in Hyannis Port in Massachusetts, Bronxville in New York, and Palm Beach in Florida; at the beach at The Breakers Hotel and at the Sea Spray Club in Palm Beach; at the Ostrich-Alligator Farm & Zoo in Lantana, Palm Beach County; and at the West Beach Club on Cape Cod. Also of note are photographs of Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Easter celebrations; birthday parties for Eunice Kennedy and Jean Kennedy; a Native American sun dance ceremony in Palm Beach; gymnastics exercises and boxing matches at the Sea Spray Club, in which Robert F. “Bobby/Bob” Kennedy and Edward M. “Ted” Kennedy participated; Jean dressed for her First Communion and Confirmation in Bronxville; Ted’s picnic on the lawn of the family’s home in Bronxville with a friend identified as “Rita”; a visit to a warship in Provincetown, Massachusetts; Jean dressed in a Scottish tartan and kilt; and other activities including swimming, sailing, sledding, horseback riding, football, and other sports. Other Kennedy family members and friends pictured in photographs include Joseph P. Kennedy, Sr.; Joseph P. Photographs, circa 1880-1972. Primarily 8” x 10” black-and-white prints. Images made by Boston Herald photographers and the Associated Press wire services, featuring John F. Kennedy and the Kennedy family at various events during his tenure as Congressman through his presidency. Also included are historic family photographs as well as images of John F. Kennedy’s assassination and memorial services, Jacqueline Kennedy’s life through 1969, and the creation of the John F. Kennedy Presidential Library.
